“Devin Haney Throws Shade at Shakur Stevenson Over Alleged $3 Million Offer Rejection”

In the pulsating realm of boxing, the spotlight intensifies on Devin Haney as he gears up to defend his title against Ryan Garcia on the grand stage of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, slated for April 20. Yet, amidst the fervent anticipation surrounding the upcoming showdown, concerns loom over Garcia’s mental health and his flurry of erratic social media posts, leaving fans on edge with lingering doubts about his readiness to step into the ring.

However, amidst this cloud of uncertainty, a new contender emerges in the form of Shakur Stevenson, fresh off a short-lived retirement and eyeing his super-lightweight debut. Seizing the opportunity presented by Garcia’s tumultuous situation, Stevenson extends an offer to step into the ring in his place. Yet, Bill Haney, Devin’s father, firmly rebuffs the proposition, declining to entertain negotiations with Stevenson.

“Bill just told y’all he will NEVER negotiate a fight between me and his son EVER if that’s not ducking then idk what is.. But good luck to yall wish yall nothing but the best I’m not going no where I’m here to stay💪🏾 #ChasingGreatness,” he tweeted

But why does Bill Haney refuse to consider Stevenson as a potential opponent for his son? Devin Haney himself steps forward to shed light on the matter, revealing the underlying reasons behind their refusal to engage with Stevenson in the ring. Haney recalls a past offer extended to Stevenson, where he was offered a 25% share of the purse, only for Stevenson to turn it down, asserting his worth beyond the proposed terms.

He pointedly remarked, “Top rank offered Shakur to make nothing higher than 3 million for the next 3 years. I would wanna take that 25% now too.”

Stevenson’s subsequent offer to fight Haney once again is met with staunch resistance from the Haney camp, with Bill Haney bluntly stating that Stevenson brings “nothing to the table.” This refusal sparks a fiery exchange on social media, with Stevenson expressing his frustration and determination to prove himself in the ring, while Haney fires back with a pointed reminder of Stevenson’s alleged missed opportunity for a lucrative deal.

“If Maxi Hughes gave Kambosas the fight of his life but Zepeda DESTROYED him, how good is Kambosas, or the better question is, how good is Zepeda?” Stevenson mused.

“I’m excited. Let’s make #StevensonZepeda next, pls – Pressure bust pipes or make diamonds #ChasingGreatness.”

Meanwhile, Stevenson strategically sets his sights on William Zepeda, branding him a “real killer” in the boxing ring and igniting speculation about potential matchups in the lightweight division. With his keen analysis and calculated provocations, Stevenson challenges the boxing world to recognize his prowess and readiness for new challenges, amplifying his call for a showdown with Zepeda to cement his legacy in the sport.
