Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul has been rumored from the beginning. Some suggested a competition without judges. Later, some announced that standard gloves would not be used, and others confirmed the use of headgear. These reports shocked the boxing world. Now, voices from Tyson’s inner circle are being heard, offering a much-needed explanation.

On July 20, Tyson, then 58 years old, will face a much younger opponent in a bout in Texas. Due to the large age difference, the nature of this fight caused much criticism and speculation. One section argued that matches were conducted according to a trade-show-like set of rules, with certain leeway that did not exist in official boxing matches. But organizers are adamant that it will be a serious battle and the biggest in recent history. Details of these predictions were revealed by Tyson’s Middle East representative.

How
many people? “The fight is still four months away,” Ameer Abdallah, owner of Lace-Up Promotions, a name very close to “Iron Mike” when it comes to involvement in the Middle East, told the Mayweather Channel. . However, he paid attention to rumors circulating about this fight. Organizers further clarified, “We can assure you that there will be no headgear or 18-ounce gloves. We do have regulation-sized gloves.”

Previously, certain reports emphasized that fighters would wear 16-ounce gloves and that the winner would be decided only by knockout, not points. However, Paul’s business partner Nakisa Vidalen refuted the rumors. Now, in this tightly spun web of speculation, there are murmurs going around about the rules that would allow his brother Paul to tie Logan Paul to the ring. Asked about the plausibility of this statement, Abdallah said, “I have never heard of such a thing before.” This is also probably completely wrong.

Ameer
Abdallah further explained that the fight is primarily promoted by Paul’s promotional company Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and is aimed at exceeding expectations. Abdallah continued: “We’re talking about 700 million people.” We assume they have access to it. Approximately 300 million households can watch it for free on Netflix, the world’s largest streaming platform. It’s a big, massive event. Netflix owns the streaming rights to the match, and it will be the first time the platform will broadcast a sporting event.
Apart
from the details provided by Abdallah, a few more specifics have been revealed ahead of the match.

Approval or exhibition? Mike Tyson reveals

Badest last appeared in the ring four years ago against Roy Jones Jr. This match took place between two fighters of approximately the same age. But now that Tyson is facing Paul and there are 30 years between them, it seems prudent to include this in his show rules.

However, for Paul, who lives in Puerto Rico, this would not match his expected growth. Although this match will give him the money and the hype he craves, the match will not help his boxing record. Although he has only had 10 fights, he has made it clear that he is now aiming to fight for the championship. Exhibition fights are hardly the right way to meet this requirement.

Mike Tyson told Fox News that the fight was an exhibition fight. He stressed, “This is called an exhibition, but if you look for an exhibition, you won’t see any laws that we fight for. This is a fight.”
