Shakur Stevenson Stands Firm: Defending His Choice of Opponent with Fire and Fury

In a recent turn of events, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson has ignited a firestorm of controversy with his choice of opponent for his upcoming bout. Stevenson’s opponent, Artem Harutyunyan, may not be a household name in the boxing world, but Stevenson is quick to remind detractors of Harutyunyan’s credentials. The German-based fighter, despite suffering a setback in his last bout, boasts an impressive record and even clinched a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics. Stevenson took to social media to rally behind Harutyunyan, highlighting his past achievements and dismissing any notion of overlooking his opponent.

The announcement of Stevenson’s comeback and his subsequent choice of opponent has divided opinion within the boxing community. Some see it as a strategic move by Stevenson to ease back into the ring, while others view it as a missed opportunity for a more high-profile matchup. Regardless, Stevenson remains resolute in his belief that he will emerge victorious come fight night.

“Don’t contradict yourself boxings fans this the dude who gave Frank Martin hell and everybody said he was a good fighter.. He won a bronze in the Olympics I ain’t sleeping on em.”

He noted, “Kill season in full effect I dont plan on letting this go to distance.”

Despite facing criticism for his lack of discipline in the past, Stevenson is determined to make the most of this second phase of his career and prove his doubters wrong.

As the countdown to the showdown intensifies, all eyes will be on Stevenson and Harutyunyan as they prepare to step into the ring.
