Ryan Garcia Slams Devin Haney Over Assault Scandal and Offers Personal Training to Victim: A Boxing Rivalry Heats Up

In a dramatic turn of events that has intensified the already fiery rivalry between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney, Garcia has publicly mocked Haney in the wake of an assault and battery incident. The situation has sparked a flurry of reactions and offers, fueling an ongoing feud that continues to captivate the boxing world.

The Incident That Shook the Boxing Community

Devin Haney, the 25-year-old WBC champion, recently found himself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. A video that surfaced this week shows Haney allegedly engaging in a physical altercation in a public setting. In the footage, Haney can be seen throwing a punch before quickly fleeing the scene, leaving his entourage to continue the assault on the victim.

The incident, which has yet to result in any arrests, has captured widespread attention. Ryan Garcia, 25, known for his sharp wit as much as his boxing skills, didn’t miss the opportunity to seize on the controversy. His response was swift and biting, taking to his X handle to deliver a series of pointed remarks aimed at Haney.

He wrote, “He couldn’t even drop a civilian. Also you talked about being a great role model. You really punched someone while your whole team jumps one guy sounds pretty diddy to me.”

Garcia declared, “I wonder what the commission would do if I fought someone and it was caught on camera hmmm. Thing is he punches so soft that maybe they will let it slide and call it play fighting. Hmmm who knows 🤷‍♂️”

He announced, “Find me the victim of the Devin Haney attack. Want to help him out show him some moves on how to defeat a Haney. So if you guys can find me him I’ll personally show him the left hook.”

Garcia’s Scathing Critique: A Social Media Blitz

In his first salvo, Garcia questioned Haney’s credentials as a role model and took a jab at the nature of the attack. “He couldn’t even drop a civilian,” Garcia tweeted. “Also, you talked about being a great role model. You really punched someone while your whole team jumps one guy sounds pretty diddy to me.” Garcia’s comments underscore his disdain for Haney’s actions and his perceived hypocrisy.

Garcia’s critique didn’t stop there. In a follow-up tweet, he speculated about the repercussions Haney might face if the situation were reversed. “I wonder what the commission would do if I fought someone and it was caught on camera hmmm,” Garcia mused. “Thing is he punches so soft that maybe they will let it slide and call it play fighting. Hmmm who knows 🤷‍♂️”

Adding fuel to the fire, Garcia made an unexpected offer to the victim of the assault. “Find me the victim of the Devin Haney attack,” Garcia posted. “Want to help him out, show him some moves on how to defeat a Haney. So if you guys can find me him I’ll personally show him the left hook.” This gesture, though seemingly generous, also highlights Garcia’s ongoing rivalry with Haney.

The Saudi Adviser said, “I like this guy [Ryan Garcia], and I want to do a big fight with him. He asked me to do the rematch between him and Haney. We want to see this fight.”

The Intensifying Rivalry

The animosity between Garcia and Haney is nothing new. Their heated exchanges and previous bout in April have only escalated their feud. With both fighters on the sidelines—Garcia dealing with issues related to intoxicants and Haney taking a break from boxing—the stage is set for a potential rematch that could settle their score once and for all.

The Rematch Debate: Who Will Make It Happen?

Adding an intriguing twist to the saga, HE Turki Alalshikh, the Saudi Adviser, has expressed interest in staging a rematch between Garcia and Haney. In a recent conversation with Stomping Ground, Alalshikh revealed his admiration for Garcia and his desire to facilitate a big fight. “I like this guy [Ryan Garcia], and I want to do a big fight with him,” Alalshikh said. “He asked me to do the rematch between him and Haney. We want to see this fight.”

However, Alalshikh has stipulated that Garcia must first resolve his issues with intoxicants and serve his one-year ban. With both fighters eager for a rematch and a potential showdown on the horizon, fans are left to wonder if and when the anticipated bout will take place.

A Rivalry on Fire: What’s Next?

As the drama unfolds, the boxing world is abuzz with speculation and anticipation. The personal and professional stakes are high, with Garcia’s bold remarks and Haney’s controversial actions adding layers of intrigue to their ongoing rivalry. Whether or not the rematch materializes, the clash between these two fighters continues to fuel excitement and debate among fans and pundits alike.
