Ryan Garcia is backing Devin Haney to beat Gervonta Davis if the two meet in the ring. Garcia’s comments in response to Davis’ comments have now been retracted after Garcia beat Haney last week in New York.

Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) silenced his critics with a majority decision win at Barclays Hall, losing the WBC title three times in 12 rounds.

Davis beat Garcia with body shots last April in Las Vegas.

“Ryan needs to retire now,” Davis wrote on social media platform X. “He (Garcia) is going to be really hurt.”

Garcia responded to Davis at the X, calling for a rematch at 144 pounds.

Speaking on the PBD Podcast, Garica was asked what he thought of a potential fight between Davis and Haney, with Garcia predicting that his fellow Californian would beat the WBA lightweight champion.

– Haney beats Tank [David]. Boxing is a wild sport,” Garcia told the PBD Podcast. – Haney beats him just by volume. [He] always knew how to use his power for good.

–
Tank tries to hurt him [Haney], but I don’t think Tank will hurt Honey. Haney hits the tank hard. I know everyone’s going to say, ‘Oh, Ryan’s gone crazy again,’ but if it happens, I’ll keep my Honey.

Ashley’s Thoughts:

After Ryan Garcia’s impressive win over Devin Haney, the boxing world was buzzing with speculation about possible future fights. Another interesting thing is the fight between Haney and Gervonta Davis, two very strong fighters.

Garcia, who silenced his critics with a majority win over Haney last week, focused on the supposed fight between Haney and Davis. Although Garcia has worked with Davis in the past, he is now backing Haney, predicting the Californian will defeat the WBA lightweight champion.

In an appearance on the PBD Podcast, Garcia expressed confidence in Haney’s ability to beat Davis, citing Haney’s boxing skills and intelligence as key factors in his prediction. Garcia believes that Haney’s strategic approach and powerful punches will allow him to surpass Davis in the ring.

Garcia’s endorsement of Haney comes amid talk of a rematch between Garcia and Davis, with Garcia expressing his desire to face Davis again at 144 pounds. However, Garcia’s focus now is on supporting Haney’s future efforts at lightweight.
