Roy Jones Jr. Issues Bone-Chilling Warning to Jake Paul Ahead of Mike Tyson Bout
The anticipation surrounding the upcoming showdown between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is reaching a fever pitch, but concerns about age and capability loom large over the bout. With Tyson set to step back into the ring at nearly 58 years old, questions about his ability to compete have been raised. However, one man who knows Tyson well, Roy Jones Jr., is adamant that age won’t hinder the ferocity of the former heavyweight champion.
In a recent interview with Boxing King Media, Jones Jr. pulled no punches in his assessment of Tyson’s readiness for the fight. Referring to Tyson as a “Pitbull dog,” Jones Jr. warned Paul that Tyson’s tenacity and power would be as formidable as ever, regardless of his age. With the bout scheduled to take place at AT&T Stadium in Texas, Jones Jr. emphasized that Tyson’s warrior mentality would make it a brawl, exhibition or not.
When questioned about the safety concerns surrounding Tyson’s age and the rules of the fight, Jones Jr. brushed aside any doubts, asserting that both he and Tyson are warriors who thrive on the intensity of combat. He dismissed the notion that Tyson would hold back, emphasizing that Tyson’s ferocious nature would ensure a fiercely contested battle.
Despite the fight being labeled as an exhibition, Jones Jr. made it clear that Tyson’s instinctual aggression would turn it into a full-blown fight. Comparing Tyson to a Pitbull dog, Jones Jr. highlighted Tyson’s inability to hold back once he’s in the ring, suggesting that Paul would face a formidable challenge regardless of the fight’s classification.
Captain Hook’ said, “We [are] warriors. We don’t care about getting punched—[we] don’t care what age we are. This [is] what we do.” He even suggested that if Tyson can get in shape like he did during their fight, “He’s trouble; he’s a problem for anybody.”
He said, “They can label [the fight] whatever they want to. Mike [doesn’t] know how to hold back. Mike’s like a Pitbull dog. Pitbull dogs don’t know how to play. It’s going to turn [into] a fight either way.” In the meantime, Jake Paul has expressed his thoughts on fighting Mike Tyson!
“I’m a little scared [because] it is Mike Tyson, and I feel like when I look across the ring, I’m just [going to] have a wow moment that I am actually about to fight Mike Tyson,” said Paul.
With tensions running high and anticipation reaching a boiling point, the clash between Tyson and Paul promises to be a spectacle unlike any other. As the date draws nearer, fight fans around the world eagerly await the outcome of this epic showdown between youth and experience.
