Ashley’s thoughts:

Eddie Hearn says Regis Prograis and Dalton Smith are ready to move this summer. Prograis, 35, is nearing the end of his three-fight deal with Matchroom and has recently faced Danito Zorrilla and Devin Haney. Although the loss to Haney destroyed his ambitions, Progres is still trying to regain the glory, even if he fights against Subril Mathias or Liam Parrot for the IBF super lightweight title on the 15th of June .

Progras was originally scheduled to face Paro, but after Paro pulled out of the fight scheduled for June 2023 due to injury, Prograis is now set to face Zorrilla. And looks forward to showing off his skills in the ring again. Currently, 27-year-old Dalton Smith is one of Matchroom’s hottest prospects. Hearn hinted at a potential clash between Prograis and Smith, indicating that Smith is ready to take on the challenge. Smith’s rise to the boxing world ended with a fight against champion Matias Paro, giving him a great opportunity to leave his mark on the sport.

As discussions progress, Hearn said Prograis and Smith could choose to compete in the US or the UK, depending on different circumstances, including financial incentives. Both fighters are looking forward to their next big fight, and the coming months will bring exciting matches and milestones in their careers.
