Trained by Serena Williams, Mike Tyson’s Daughter Milan Tyson Fires Up Coco Gauff After Olympic Ups and Downs

In a breathtaking display of athletic prowess, Coco Gauff has made history as the youngest American woman to win a singles match at the Olympics. At just 20, Gauff has already achieved what many seasoned players only dream of, joining the ranks of tennis legends like Venus Williams.

Gauff’s impressive run at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris captured the hearts of fans worldwide, but it was a surprising show of support from an unexpected source that added an extra layer of excitement. Milan Tyson, daughter of boxing icon Mike Tyson, took to Instagram to hype up the young tennis star. The post featured a striking image of Gauff with both thumbs pointed proudly at her “USA” emblazoned gear. Milan’s comment read, “Aura is going crazyyyy,” a nod to Gauff’s undeniable energy and talent.

In a world where athletic greatness often inspires admiration across disciplines, Tyson’s endorsement stands out. Her enthusiasm is not just a fleeting gesture; it’s rooted in a deep appreciation for Gauff’s remarkable journey. Milan, who has herself been making waves in tennis under the mentorship of Serena Williams and Patrick Mouratoglou, sees in Gauff a kindred spirit. The young athlete’s passion for tennis has her frequenting events like the US Open, where her father, Mike Tyson, has been spotted supporting her from the sidelines.

Milan commented on the post, “Aura is going crazyyyy”, acknowledging Gauff’s skill and game.

Tyson stated, “Future GOAT 15-year-old WTA @CocoGauff Awesome example of kindness, courage and tenacity. Look out for what she does in 2020.”

Interestingly, Milan’s journey in tennis has been deeply influenced by her interactions with Gauff. Back when Gauff was just 15, Mike Tyson expressed his admiration for her, predicting a bright future for the young player. Tyson’s comment, “Future GOAT 15-year-old WTA @CocoGauff Awesome example of kindness, courage, and tenacity. Look out for what she does in 2020,” resonated as Gauff continued to prove him right.

She tried to make her case and said, “You have to understand this is not fair.”

Despite her stellar performance, Gauff’s Olympic journey met a dramatic end. After a strong start with three consecutive victories, she faced a setback in the singles quarterfinals against Croatia’s Donna Vekic. The match took a controversial turn when Gauff lost the first set despite leading 5-2. In the second set, a contentious argument with the umpire over a disputed call added to the tension. Gauff, visibly frustrated, contended, “You have to understand this is not fair,” as she lost her grip on the match.

The heated exchange with the umpire, coupled with a missed ball call, led to a tearful conclusion for Gauff, ending her Olympic campaign earlier than anticipated. Yet, her spirit remains unbroken. Gauff’s resilience and talent continue to shine brightly, promising even greater achievements in future tournaments.

Editor’s Note: Gauff’s journey at the 2024 Olympics is a testament to her incredible talent and determination. Despite the disappointment of her early exit, her performances have solidified her place as one of tennis’s brightest stars. The support from figures like Milan Tyson highlights the respect and admiration Gauff commands across the sports world.
