Keyshawn Davis Unleashes Fury Towards Teofimo Lopez in Explosive Rant
Keyshawn Davis, the rising star in the boxing world, has ignited a fiery feud with Teofimo Lopez, making headlines with his impassioned remarks. The feud, simmering for years, reached boiling point after Davis’s recent victory against Jose Pedraza, where he wasted no time in confronting Lopez.
In a press conference preceding his fight against Jamaine Ortiz, Davis expressed his dismay over Lopez mentioning his name in previous interviews. Despite an initial cordial exchange during the press conference, tensions escalated dramatically after the fight.
Davis, known as “The Businessman,” recalled a sparring session with Teofimo Lopez Sr. five years ago, where he reportedly dominated. While there seems to be no animosity between Davis and Lopez Sr., Davis used this incident to intensify his call-out to Teofimo Lopez Jr. He emphatically stated, “If anybody put their hands on my mother or my father, is no back getting good. We beefing for the rest of our life.”
To Punsh Drunk Boxing, he stated, “Man, let’s be real. I’m from Norfolk, Virginia. If anybody put their hands on my mother or my father, is no back getting good. We beefing for the rest of our life. F*ck. You see him, he put his hand out so I can shake it. It wasn’t the other way around at that press conference.”
The 24-year-old boxer from Norfolk, Virginia, minced no words in his criticism of Lopez’s reluctance to face him in the ring, despite their shared promotional company. Davis’s frustration with Lopez’s evasiveness was palpable as he reiterated his readiness to sign the contract and settle the score inside the ring.
Earlier to Fight Hub TV, the orthodox fighter had noted, “All Teofimo has got to do is send the contract. We got the same promoter. We’ve seen each other in the Top Rank office. We can go to the Top Rank office and sit down, and we can make the fight happen.”
He said, “This kid Keyshawn Davis they talkin’ about, he just wants an easy route to be famous. So big-headed. Completely big-headed. Hasn’t done anything in the sport of boxing. Doesn’t even have a world title. Those little belts that he has. I got that the first year I turned pro. Sh!t that was in three years, three years, and some change. I became a world champion at 22 years young (with a win over Vasiliy Lomachenko).”
In response to Davis’s challenge, Teofimo Lopez dismissed him as seeking an “easy route to be famous.” Lopez belittled Davis’s achievements, emphasizing his own rapid ascent to becoming a world champion at just 22 years old. However, Davis remains undeterred, steadfast in his pursuit of a showdown with Lopez.
Despite the escalating tensions and public clamor for the bout, their promoter, Bob Arum, remains cautious about arranging the fight, citing Davis’s relative inexperience compared to Lopez. Arum’s reservations notwithstanding, Davis’s stellar performance against Pedraza has undoubtedly bolstered his case for a high-profile matchup against Lopez.
The boxing world eagerly awaits the next chapter in this electrifying rivalry, as Keyshawn Davis and Teofimo Lopez continue to trade verbal blows. With emotions running high and stakes escalating, fans can only anticipate a showdown of epic proportions when these two fighters eventually step into the ring.
“I think it’s a little too early for Keyshawn, although Keyshawn surprised me [Thursday] night. He was incredibly good against an experienced fighter.”
