Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis’ Disclosed Fight Purse for Fighting Cody Crowley

The anticipation surrounding Jaron Ennis’ upcoming fight against Cody Crowley has reached a fever pitch, especially after the revelation of the hefty purse involved. Ennis, who recently signed with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom, stands to earn a substantial windfall from the highly anticipated bout.

Despite failed negotiations between Ennis and Crowley for the IBF welterweight title fight, the IBF ordered a purse bid to determine the terms and purse split for the match. Matchroom emerged as the winning bidder, offering a staggering $3.9 million for the fight, outbidding Al Haymon’s PBC.

As per the IBF rules, Ennis, as the champion, is entitled to a significant portion of the purse bid, amounting to 85%. This means that Ennis is guaranteed a purse of $3.315 million, while Crowley will receive $585,000 for the fight.

The news of Matchroom’s successful bid has sparked excitement among boxing enthusiasts, with many eagerly anticipating a sensational event in Philadelphia scheduled for July. Eddie Hearn expressed his delight at securing the bid for Ennis’ homecoming fight, emphasizing his commitment to delivering a memorable event for the fans.

With Ennis set to defend his IBF title against Crowley, the bout holds significant importance for both fighters. For Ennis, it marks his first title defense since being elevated to champion status in November. With aspirations of collecting more belts in the welterweight division, Ennis’ future in the sport looks promising.

“We won the big purse bid today. So we are going to bring Boots home to Philadelphia.” Moreover, he disclosed . “I am absolutely over the moon on being able to deliver that for Jaron,” Hearn added.

However, beyond the fight against Crowley, there are whispers of a potential dream match on the horizon for Ennis. HE Turki Alalshikh has expressed interest in arranging a bout between Ennis and Terence Crawford later this year. While Crawford has yet to show interest in the matchup, Hearn believes that Ennis has the potential to become undisputed at 147 and even 154 pounds.

“He’s [Jaron Ennis] the best welterweight in the world… I believe ‘Boots’ will be undisputed at 147 if we can make it happen. And at 154. I think he can beat Terence Crawford,” Hearn declared.

As fans eagerly await Ennis’ next move, the boxing world is abuzz with excitement over the prospect of witnessing the rising star take on some of the sport’s biggest names. Whether it’s defending his title against Crowley or facing off against Crawford, Ennis’ journey promises to be filled with excitement and anticipation.
