Hughie Fury returned to his best with a six-round victory over Kostantin Dovbyshenko in Rotherham on Saturday night.
The former world heavyweight title challenger has not boxed since Christian Hammer was stopped in October 2021, although the result will only stir the boxing world, for the 29-year-old to appear the whole world.
Fury, 27-3 (15 KOs), has been plagued by health problems throughout his career. He challenged then-WBO champion Joseph Parker to take up boxing despite a skin condition called aggregate acne that weakened his immune system and weakened his stamina. He later fell ill due to prolonged illness from the coronavirus. He was scheduled to return to action in October 2022 against Michael Hunter, but the effects of the virus prevented him from training and kept him out of action for the rest of his career. This battle continued over the past year.
Fury didn’t quite match Dobschenko, but after going through a rough time in his life, his father and trainer Peter was happy with what he saw.
– I’m happy to see him there, but I’m happy with his performance after three years. I got what I wanted. We have people who are always fighting. He has to think for three minutes each round, that guy (Dovbyschenko) is doing it. He’s got to hit hard, block, he’ll try anything,” Peter Fury told Boxing Now.
– The bow is straight and the bow is smooth. In this case, he did a good job. He had to work hard to get there. He was a young, heavyweight boxer. Sometimes you want something so badly that you put undue pressure on yourself.

Fury is confident they are starting a rebuilding process and believes a six-round fight against Dovbyshenko will give them a good chance. Hughie will return to action in the world welterweight clash between Jessica McCaskill and Lauren Price in Cardiff on May 11, and Fury will be hoping he can carry that into training camp. The momentum created will carry over into the next game. “In the corner – I think after the second rate – he said, ‘My legs are like a guide. It’s been three years.’ “
– In the future, we will not be so afraid. He has a boxing match in three weeks. He thinks about what he is doing and then he does it better. He doesn’t want to learn anything, but it’s been three years,” said Fury.
—I will tell everything in a manner. People knew who he was arguing for. It was only in the last three weeks that he began to change jobs in the field due to his inability to shoot. To be honest, when he first started reading, he was really scary. He has been out for a long time. Three weeks of epic battle with Solomon Dax. You’ll find that inactivity is kryptonite, especially for heavyweights.
