IBA Boxing Night was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan this past weekend with Michael Buffer as host. In the main event, local hero Hasanboy Dusmanotov defeated Spaniard Samuel Carmona to win the IBA flyweight title.
American heavyweight Michael Hunter lost to Asleli Suslenkov on points, and Croatian Agron Skamić lost to Asleli Suslenkov.
Do these fights count somewhere? The IBA is doing well financially and is certainly safe as far as the Olympics are concerned, but apparently no one else is.
Hungarian lightweight Balazs Bakkaj (17-0) will face Danish-Austrian veteran Kim Poulsen (32-6) in Budapest on May 24 for the vacant WBO European title. do.
Bakkai, 36, represented Hungary at the 2016 Olympics and won the Hungarian title in his professional debut in 2017, but his career slowed down in his later years for unknown reasons.
EBU World Featherweight Champion Mauro Forte (20-0-2) will defend his title against Spain’s Cristóbal Lorente (18-0-1) on May 21 in Cagliari, Italy. This will be Forte’s first defense of the title he won last year against Francesco Grandelli in a first-round stoppage.

New York-based Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin (26-2) spent the weekend at his home in Sundsvall, where he was named 2023 Sportsman of the Year by a local newspaper.
However, there is no word on when Wallin will fight again.
