Devin Haney is tired of being friendly with Ryan Garcia and is now letting the world know he’s taking it personally after Garcia teased him before the fight.

The junior welterweights will fight for Haney’s version of the world title on April 20th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York (DAZN PPV).

Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) and Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) have known each other almost their entire lives. They come from the same U.S. boxing circuit and fought six times in the amateur ranks. Although they were rivals, they developed a relationship over the years and remained friendly. Haney expects Garcia’s perceived downplaying or downplaying of his abilities will go away after the fight, but a lot has changed.

In a recent video posted to the DAZN Boxing YouTube channel, Haney talked about Chris Mannix and Garcia.

“Ryan Garcia has known me since I was 10 years old,” Haney said. “He knows what kind of fighter I am. He can say what he’s going to say.” I know that I will despise certain things. After April 20th, he would say he knew how great I was. ”

Haney isn’t too thrilled with Garcia’s recent actions, but some say his opponent just sold the fight.

“He crossed the line,” Haney said, referring to Garcia’s comments about his religion. “Let’s leave it like this for now.”

Haney, on the other hand, is known for his sharp boxing IQ and conditioning, but less so for his power at his highest level, and pursued Garcia’s power. Most of Haney’s major fights have been in every scheduled round, but the power imbalance with Garcia hasn’t bothered him.

“Many of these people had power,” Haney said. “I’m just on another level. He can bring all the power he wants.” Using the skills and IQ I have, I’ll teach him how to lose power just like I did. I’m going to do it. ”

Ashley’s View:

The buildup to the Devin Haney versus Ryan Garcia fight has taken an unexpected turn, with Haney expressing his frustration over Garcia’s recent actions. Despite their history as rivals turned friends, Haney feels that Garcia has crossed a line in his pre-fight taunts, particularly regarding Haney’s religion.

Haney, who boasts an impressive record of 31-0 with 15 knockouts, is known for his sharp boxing IQ and conditioning rather than his power. While Garcia’s formidable punching prowess may pose a challenge, Haney remains confident in his abilities to outmaneuver and outclass his opponent.

The tension between the two fighters adds intrigue to an already highly anticipated matchup, set to take place on April 20th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. As Haney prepares to defend his version of the world title against Garcia, their shared history and newfound animosity promise an electrifying showdown for fans.

While some may argue that Garcia’s provocations are simply part of promoting the fight, Haney sees them as personal affronts. Nevertheless, he remains focused on the task at hand, determined to showcase his skills and secure victory in the ring.

As the countdown to April 20th continues, anticipation mounts for what promises to be a thrilling clash between two talented fighters. The stage is set for Haney and Garcia to settle their differences and determine who will emerge victorious in this highly anticipated showdown.
