Fallen From Grace, Former UFC Title Challenger Boldly Begs Jake Paul for a Fight: “He’s Actually Changed a Few People’s Lives”
The world of combat sports has witnessed many UFC legends, such as Francis Ngannou, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz, transition from the octagon to the boxing ring. Adding to this list is former British mixed martial artist Darren Till, who recently made his boxing debut in Dubai on July 6th. With ambitions to carve out a successful boxing career and earn substantial paychecks, Till has set his sights on one specific opponent: Jake Paul.
The Liverpool native has made it clear on multiple occasions that he wants to take on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. This desire has drawn criticism from various corners of the combat sports community, but Till remains undeterred. He firmly believes in his path and pays little heed to the naysayers.
The former UFC fighter stated, “Sometimes the trolls and other people say ‘You’re begging for a fight with Jake Paul’. Well, wouldn’t you beg for a fight with Jake Paul? I know I would beat Jake Paul. I’d knock him flat out, but the guy trains hard. He’s put in a lot of commitment and a lot of effort.”
Till Defends His Callout of Jake Paul
In a candid conversation with Ariel Helwani, Till elaborated on his motivation to fight Paul. “Sometimes the trolls and other people say, ‘You’re begging for a fight with Jake Paul.’ Well, wouldn’t you beg for a fight with Jake Paul? I know I would beat Jake Paul. I’d knock him flat out, but the guy trains hard. He’s put in a lot of commitment and a lot of effort.”
Till continued, “He’s actually changed a few people’s lives around, like Amanda Serrano. So this narrative that says, ‘You’re begging for a fight, you’re a guy who challenged for a title and now you’re begging for a fight with a YouTuber.’ Well, wouldn’t you, mate? You’re going to make so much money. Obviously, me and every other fighter would beg for a fight with Jake Paul. So if that’s what you want to call it, then we are begging. He’s the face.”

Jake Paul’s Meteoric Rise
Jake Paul first entered the boxing ring six years ago and has quickly become one of the most recognizable names in the sport. Known for his marketable fights and his promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions, Paul has made waves both inside and outside the ring. Despite Till’s eagerness to fight him, Paul’s response has been notably absent.
Darren Till’s Challenge and Paul’s Silence
Till believes Paul is avoiding him. Originally scheduled to fight boxing legend Mike Tyson on July 20th, Paul saw his opponent change to Mike Perry after Tyson withdrew due to health issues. Till was also slated to fight on the undercard against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. but withdrew due to visa issues. Nevertheless, he made his early boxing debut in Dubai on July 6th, facing Mohammad Mutie.
Following his victory over Mutie, Till wasted no time in calling out his desired opponents. “Jake Paul, Tommy Fury, Mike Perry, they’re all running, they’re scared cowards. They do not want to fight me. I promise you, I swear to God. I am not a four-round, two-minute fighter. I’m an eight-round, three-minute fighter, and I will f***king decapitate them.”
