“Canelo Sends Shockwaves: ‘I Don’t Give a Sh*t’ About David Benavidez Unless $200 Million on Table!”

In the aftermath of his decisive victory over Jaime Munguia, Canelo Alvarez finds himself at the center of attention once again, this time for his bold demand of $200 million to step into the ring with David Benavidez. The undisputed Super-Middleweight champion’s post-fight interview left fans and pundits alike buzzing with speculation and controversy, as he made it clear that financial compensation would dictate his next move in the sport.

Despite widespread anticipation for a showdown between Canelo and Benavidez, fueled by fan demand and media hype, the Mexican superstar remained non-committal about his future plans. When pressed about the possibility of facing Benavidez next, Canelo’s blunt response sent shockwaves through the boxing world.

“I don’t know right now. I want to rest, enjoy my family. But, you know, if the money is right I can fight right now. I don’t give a sh*t,” declared Canelo Alvarez during the post-fight interview, leaving many questioning his true motivations and priorities.

Canelo Alvarez was asked what was next. “David Benavidez is the person that everybody across this country [and] the world would like to see you fight,” added Jim Gray.

In his reply, Canelo Alvarez, completely satisfied with his performance and not in a hurry to land his next fight, said, “I don’t know right now. I want to rest, enjoy my family. But, you know, if the money is right I can fight right now. I don’t give a sh*t.”

Canelo’s demand of $200 million basically translates into “I don’t want to fight him.”

On the other hand, of course, Jose Benavidez Sr. is in agreement with Oscar De La Hoya. Likewise, when he spoke to FightHype, Benavidez Sr. ridiculed Canelo’s demand. “Who’s gonna pay him $200 million? At the end of the day, he’s only looking for excuses,” said Benavidez Sr.

The staggering demand of $200 million raised eyebrows among fans and experts, with some viewing it as a potential stumbling block to the highly anticipated matchup. While Canelo’s camp defended the demand as justified given his status as one of the sport’s biggest draws, others saw it as a convenient excuse to avoid facing Benavidez in the ring.

Oscar De La Hoya, Benavidez’s promoter Sampson Lewkowicz, and even Benavidez’s own father expressed skepticism about Canelo’s intentions, suggesting that the exorbitant demand may be a smokescreen to avoid a potentially challenging fight.

Amidst the swirling controversy, one thing remains certain: Canelo Alvarez’s next move will be closely scrutinized by fans and pundits alike. Whether the $200 million demand proves to be a negotiating tactic or a genuine roadblock to the long-awaited matchup with David Benavidez remains to be seen.

As speculation continues to mount, boxing enthusiasts around the world eagerly await further developments in the unfolding saga of Canelo Alvarez’s career. Will the Mexican superstar ultimately step into the ring with David Benavidez, or will financial considerations dictate a different path? Only time will tell.
