Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) took to social media to urge Ryan Garcia to stop playing after his win over Devin Haney.

Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) defeated former WBC super lightweight world champion Haney (31-1, 15 KOs) three times before losing by majority decision at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The much-anticipated fight was marred by the horrible behavior of Garica, who weighed in at the 140-pound limit, and for that he had to pay a fine.

When Garcia fought Davis last April, the fight earned more than $100 million in box office and pay-per-views, making it the fifth biggest fight in Nevada boxing history.

Davis eventually stopped Garcia in seven rounds at T-Mobile Arena, but after Garcia’s win over Haney, the current WBA lightweight champion posted a now-deleted tweet on social media says If there is another match, the outcome will not be different. “Ryan needs to retire now,” Davis wrote on social media platform X.

Garcia replied today, write Come to me to finish our conversation. If you’re going to beat Frank [Martin on June 15], let’s start.

Ashley’s thoughts:

Gervonta Davis took to social media to offer advice following Ryan Garcia’s win over Devin Haney. Although Haney was defeated, Davis advised Garcia to take a break from the ring. The highly anticipated fight between Garcia and Haney ended in a majority decision in Haney’s favor, with Garcia criticizing his actions during the fight, including getting cut. heavy and fine.

Davis, who has fought Garcia well in the past, reminded Garcia of their previous match, when Davis won at T-Mobile Arena. Despite Garcia’s recent victory over Haney, Davis seems confident that the outcome will not be different if they meet again. In response, Garcia asked Davis to talk again and sign a future fight if Davis defeats Frank Martin on June 15th. The ongoing story adds an interesting layer.
