“Don’t Count Out AJ vs. Wilder Yet: Eddie Hearn Drops Bombshell Announcement!

The boxing world has been gripped by anticipation for the long-awaited clash between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, a showdown that promises to be nothing short of legendary. Despite setbacks and obstacles along the way, Eddie Hearn, a pivotal figure in the negotiations, has offered a glimmer of hope to fans eagerly awaiting news of the epic encounter.

Initially slated for March of this year, the highly anticipated bout was derailed when Wilder suffered a defeat against Joseph Parker last December. However, in a surprising twist of fate, the Bronze Bomber is set to embark on a redemption journey, squaring off against Zhilei Zhang as part of Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom team on the upcoming June 1 mega event.

In a candid conversation with Boxing Social, Eddie Hearn reaffirmed his belief in the eventual realization of the AJ vs. Wilder dream match. Expressing unwavering confidence in Joshua’s willingness to face any opponent, Hearn emphasized the Briton’s eagerness to step into the ring with Wilder, a sentiment echoed by both fighters for over seven years.

He explained, “Joshua has proved time and time again that he will fight anybody. He wants to fight Wilder. He was gutted that fight fell through. So he’ll be cheering him to beat Zhang so that one day he can fight.”

“I’ve been through a lot. You understand me? I’ve had to regroup, I’ve had to get myself together and things don’t change overnight. Things don’t change for the next fight too. So, you have to keep working, you have to keep pushing, until you get what you want. I’m at this point where I’m narrowing it down and come the night of the fight, we will see if I got it or not.”

The path to this monumental showdown has been fraught with twists and turns, from lucrative offers exchanged between the fighters’ camps to the involvement of Saudi Arabian backers. Yet, despite the myriad challenges encountered along the way, both Joshua and Wilder remain steadfast in their desire to settle the score in the ring.

For Wilder, the upcoming bout against Zhang represents a pivotal moment in his career, a chance to silence the doubters and reignite his quest for boxing supremacy. With determination in his voice, Wilder articulated his unwavering commitment to his craft, vowing to overcome the odds and emerge victorious on the path to redemption.

The Bronze Bomber’ noted, “I always said it before; it’ll be a shame if we never fought each other. It only takes that one fight, that one night. June 1 is going to be that night, that one fight. Deontay Wilder knocks his head off and the world goes crazy. And there we go again, Wilder versus Joshua. They want it”

As the boxing world eagerly awaits the outcome of Wilder’s clash with Zhang, the prospect of an eventual showdown between Joshua and Wilder looms large, tantalizing fans with the promise of an epic battle for the ages.
