Detroit is set to witness an electrifying clash as former world-title challenger Shohjahon Ergashev, hailing from Uzbekistan and now residing in Detroit, steps back into the ring to take on Panama City’s seasoned fighter Juan Huertas. This highly anticipated showdown is slated as the co-main event for “Big Time Boxing USA” on Thursday, March 28th, at Wayne State Fieldhouse. Boxing enthusiasts worldwide can catch the action live on DAZN (8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT).

A Tale of Redemption and Determination

Shohjahon Ergashev, ranked #14 by the IBF, returns to the ring with a fierce determination following his recent setback against Subriel Matias. Despite suffering his first career defeat, Ergashev remains a formidable force in the super lightweight division. Under the guidance of renowned trainer SugarHill Steward, Ergashev is poised to showcase his relentless spirit and skillful prowess.

“I am excited about getting back in the ring fully recovered and ready to go,” expressed Ergashev. “I look forward to putting on a great performance in Detroit. It’s a city where I started my U.S. boxing journey. My goal of being a world champion has never been stronger, and I will show it with my performance on March 28.”

Huertas: A Test of Power

Standing opposite Ergashev is the seasoned warrior Juan Huertas, a veteran of numerous national and regional championships. With an impressive record and a penchant for knockout victories, Huertas poses a significant challenge to Ergashev’s quest for redemption. Buoyed by his recent triumph over Argenor Cuero, Huertas vows to deliver an explosive encounter in the ring.

“Fans can expect a fire-filled fight since we are both known for our knockout power,”

affirmed Huertas.

“I’ve been training since January, staying ready. I’m glad to have a full eight-week camp for this fight.”

Undercard Spectacles

In addition to the main event, the under card promises thrilling match ups, including a six-round super lightweight clash between undefeated Joshua James Pagan and Ecuador’s Luis Porozo. Pagan, the 2021 U.S. amateur welterweight national champion, seeks to maintain his unblemished record against the seasoned Porozo, a former Olympian with an extensive amateur background.

Presented by Salita Promotions, “Big Time Boxing USA” guarantees an evening packed with adrenaline-pumping action and unforgettable moments. From the explosive main event to the undercard spectacles, boxing aficionados are in for a treat as these warriors step into the spotlight.

Carrillo vs. Rankin: Battle of the Undefeated

Adding to the allure of the event is the clash between 2016 Colombian Olympian Juan Carrillo and veteran Quinton Rankin in a 10-round light heavyweight bout. Carrillo, boasting an unblemished record, puts his skills to the test against the seasoned Rankin, promising an enthralling battle of skill and strategy.

“Detroit is in for a treat with this matchup,”

remarked Dmitriy Salita, president of Salita Promotions.

“Carrillo and Rankin both bring their A-game to the ring, and fans can expect nothing short of fireworks.”

Shishkin vs. Guy: A Showdown of Titans

Rounding out the televised under card is IBF No. 2 super middleweight contender Vladimir Shishkin’s return to face the always tough Mike Guy in a 10-round attraction. Shishkin, known for his technical prowess and relentless aggression, squares off against Guy in what promises to be a battle of titans.

“With each fighter vying for supremacy in their respective divisions, Shishkin vs. Guy is a matchup not to be missed,” emphasized Salita. “Both athletes bring their unique strengths to the ring, setting the stage for an unforgettable showdown.”
