Only a week later, on the 27th of April, after the loss against Teofimo Lopez last year, Josh Taylor will rematch Jack Catterall. As Catterall had lost the undisputed Super-Lightweight fight to Taylor in 2022, the southpaw boxer will receive a chance to avenge his loss in Leeds, England. Anyway, here are the other upcoming big fights one must keep in mind.

Unified Lightweight, Undisputed Heavyweight and Super-Bantamweight fights: Lomachenko, Inoue, Tyson Fury, and Alvarez to return in May

May will kick off with Canelo Alvarez returning to face Jaime Munguia inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. On May 4th, during the Cinco de Mayo weekend, Alvarez, 60-2-2, will take on Jaime Munguia, 43-0-0. Although no title is on the line, boxing fans are excited to find out Munguia’s performance against a boxer as experienced as Saul. After Alvarez vs. Munguia, Naoya Inoue will defend his undisputed Super-Bantamweight title against Luis Nery on May 6th.

Then on May 11th, after the loss against Devin Haney in May last year, Vasyl Lomachenko will finally return to face George Kambosos Jr. for the unified Lightweight title. It will be interesting to see how ‘Ferocious’ deals with ‘The Matrix’. Finally, provided Tyson Fury heals his eye injury in time, on May 18th, ‘The Gypsy King’ will take on Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh for the undisputed Heavyweight title.

Beterbiev vs. Bivol and Queesberry vs. Matchroom in June

After Dmitry Bivol defeated Canelo Alvarez in 2022, the Russian boxer had only one aim – to become an undisputed champion in the sport. Likewise, Bivol wanted to either face Alvarez in a rematch in Super-Middleweight or fight Artur Beterbiev for the undisputed Light-Heavyweight title. Finally, on the 1st of June, Bivol will have a chance to make his dream come true against Beterbiev.

Finally, as per His Excellency Turki Alalshikh’s request five hand-picked boxers from the Queensberry Promotions will lock horns with five fighters representing Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom. While Hearn has already suggested names such as Callum Smith, Nick Ball, and Raymond Ford, an official decision has yet to be made by both sides.
