Francis Ngannou Reveals Unexpected Truth About Earnings Post-UFC and His Next Big Challenge

Francis Ngannou, the imposing Cameroonian-French fighter, has captured the imagination of combat sports fans around the world. His transition from the UFC to boxing has been nothing short of dramatic, punctuated by high-stakes bouts and sky-high earnings. However, the truth behind his earnings from his high-profile boxing match against Anthony Joshua may surprise many.

The Illusion of Millions

Ngannou’s leap into the boxing ring has been a subject of intense speculation, particularly regarding his financial gains. After a high-profile debut against Tyson Fury, which saw Ngannou reportedly pocket $10 million, the buzz only intensified for his subsequent fight with Anthony Joshua. Rumors swirled that Ngannou had earned up to $20 million for this bout. Yet, in a candid moment on the ‘The Diary of CEO’ podcast, Ngannou dispelled these claims.

“I don’t know [because] I haven’t counted yet [laughs]. I can’t say if it’s true, but it’s not true [making $20 million]. Yeah [earned a lot of money],” Ngannou confessed, addressing the exaggerated figures that had circulated. Despite not making the astronomical sum, Ngannou remains financially secure, a testament to his success in the fight world. However, he maintains that such amounts don’t fundamentally alter one’s life.

“What is life-changing [amount]?… You give $10 million to somebody, it’s just another $10 million and he won’t change anything in his life. And, you give $1,000 to somebody [else], he changes his life [or] he saves his life,” Ngannou reflected, offering a poignant perspective on wealth and its impact.

A Glimpse into Ngannou’s Financial Journey

Ngannou’s financial journey has been as compelling as his fight career. His move from MMA to boxing was driven not only by the allure of new challenges but also by the promise of lucrative paydays. However, the reality has been less glamorous than anticipated. Even with substantial earnings, the disparity between the reported and actual figures underscores the unpredictability of professional fighting finances.

Despite these financial revelations, Ngannou’s career trajectory remains impressive. His entry into boxing has already seen him making waves, and he’s set to continue this momentum in his upcoming endeavors.

A New Challenge in the PFL

As Ngannou transitions back to MMA, his fans are eagerly awaiting his next fight. The former UFC champion is preparing for his debut in the Professional Fighters League (PFL), where he will face off against Renan Ferreira. Ferreira, a formidable Brazilian fighter and former PFL heavyweight champion, poses a significant challenge for Ngannou.

The announcement of this matchup has sparked considerable excitement. Joe Rogan, in a recent podcast discussion, highlighted Ferreira’s impressive credentials and athleticism, warning Ngannou of the Brazilian’s prowess. “He’s dangerous, he’s legit… He’s a big dude too. Very athletic, fast,” Rogan remarked, adding an extra layer of anticipation to Ngannou’s upcoming fight.
