“Garcia’s Gambit: UFC Legend Sonnen Blames Boxer for Failed Drug Test”
Renowned UFC legend Chael Sonnen has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding boxing contender Ryan Garcia’s failed drug test. Despite Garcia’s vehement claims of innocence, Sonnen believes that the blame ultimately falls squarely on Garcia’s own shoulders.
In a recent video posted on his YouTube channel, Sonnen didn’t mince words when discussing Garcia’s missteps. He pointed out that Garcia’s decision to volunteer for a drug test, while admirable on the surface, ultimately proved to be his undoing. Sonnen argued that Garcia should never have put himself in a position where he could potentially incriminate himself.
“Early on, there was no way to prove your innocence, which is the very reason you never should have gone into a volunteered drug pool in the first place,” Sonnen asserted, highlighting Garcia’s ill-advised move.

According to Sonnen, Garcia’s decision to volunteer for a drug test was unnecessary, considering he was already part of a testing pool due to an upcoming fight. By drawing unnecessary attention to himself, Garcia inadvertently invited scrutiny and suspicion, ultimately leading to his current predicament.
“You know what the word volunteer means? To put yourself in jeopardy. You are not volunteering to have extra credit put on you… to enter a drug pool you’re already in… [or] to have a reputable agency oversee it. You already have all of those things,” Sonnen elaborated, emphasizing the folly of Garcia’s actions.

‘The American Gangster’ added, “There are actual times where you’re dealing with a dumb-dumb and other people around him will slip him something. Ryan Garcia definitely qualifies as a dumb-dumb…Yea, he’s clean, man. He’s clean if you’re talking about anobolics. Anobolics, which in this order, make you bigger, stronger, faster…He’s clean.”

However, despite his criticism, Sonnen was quick to clarify that he doesn’t believe Garcia intentionally used performance-enhancing substances. In fact, Sonnen dismissed the notion that Garcia would resort to such tactics, describing him as a “dumb-dumb” but ultimately clean fighter.

While Sonnen’s comments may provide some insight into Garcia’s situation, the boxing world remains divided on the issue. As Garcia continues to fight to clear his name, the controversy surrounding his failed drug test shows no signs of abating.
