‘Golden Boy’ says it’s not about meat

When two brilliant minds collide, the results are dire. Such is the case between the famous Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez and his promoter Oscar De La Hoya. One would think that with a former world champion working with a current world champion, it would go well. However, these two stories are not necessarily the same. Even after breaking up in 2020, their differences persisted. At Jaime Munguia’s press conference, Canelo seemed uncomfortable sharing the stage with Oscar. However, the question is: why? Why doesn’t Canelo want to work with Oscar De La Hoya? Oscar also clarified in his interview with Ariel Helwani today. Oscar De La Hoya says fighting is easy despite differences.

During
the interview, Helwani asked Oscar about the reason for the fight. In response, Oscar began, “I was Munguia’s co-promoter and Canelo didn’t want to work with me… the others were taken from him… “

Oscar emphasized that his achievements in sports will attract attention. However, Oscar thought, “I think he doesn’t like it.” So, he doesn’t want me.
– So my fellow promoter from Mexico, the guy who managed Munguia, managed [Canelo] under my management. He met Canelo’s guy [so] the fight was very easy,” said Oscar. Meanwhile, Canelo Alvarez talked about their relationship.

Canelo
Alvarez wishes Oscar ‘the best’

After failing to find an opponent of his own, Canelo Alvarez had to decide on Mexican opponent Jaime Munguia to team with Oscar De La Hoya. And during an interview with Fight Hub TV on April 12, the reporter asked Canelo if the feud would turn into a friendship.

In response, the media superstar revealed his true feelings for Oscar. He said, “No, I don’t care”; I’m not interested in [friending] him. I’m fine wherever I am, I have nothing to do with him. I wish him the best. But I don’t want him to come near me, come near me. I don’t want that kind of life in my life.

Despite their animosity, the opportunity to make money seems to bring the duo of hero and promoter together. However, judging by their self-assessment, they are unlikely to clash with each other. Do you think Oscar and Canelo should fight?

Ashley’s thoughts:

The strained relationship between Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya has caused much concern and speculation in the boxing community. Despite the origins of Mexican boxing and their initial commitment to partnership, the two are still at odds, raising questions about the reasons for their feud.

The real problem lies in their contradictory nature and questionable views of professional cooperation. While one would expect a good relationship between a former world champion like De La Hoya and a current boxing star like Alvarez, the reality is far from good. Even after their separation in 2020, tensions between them continued to rise, which was evident in unexpected events and public statements. De La Hoya’s recent interview with Ariel Helwani revealed the situation, and the promoter expressed concern over Alvarez’s unwillingness to work with him. Despite his success in the sport, De La Hoya admitted that Alvarez did not like their work together, because they were different people and did not respect each other.

Alvarez, on the other hand, has been honest about his feelings for De La Hoya, making it clear that he has no intention of mending their differences or cultivating a friendship. While praising De La Hoya’s past efforts in his career, Alvarez said he prefers to keep his distance and focus on his way forward.

A reconciliation between the two seems unlikely, and both sides have said they are unwilling to improve relations or work together. Although the financial incentives bring the couple together for a while, the lingering tensions and mutual prejudice mean that partnerships are full of challenges.

As fans speculated about a possible fight in the ring between Alvarez and De La Hoya, it became clear that the real fight was settling their differences outside the ring. Whether they choose to reconcile or distance themselves, one thing is certain: The split between Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya reminds us that even in the world of sports, it is possible Self-motivation is the nature of talent and skill that determines the outcome.
