The rematch between undisputed light welterweight world champion Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will take place on July 20th in Texas.
Taylor, 37, defeated Serrano by split decision in the All-Time Lightweight Classic two years ago.
Taylor is now the undisputed light welterweight champion, and Serrano is moving up in weight again to face the Irish woman.
The highly anticipated rematch will be the main event between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
“This is the rematch the world wanted to see,” Taylor said. “The first fight in New York was obviously an epic event and exceeded all expectations, and I’m sure the rematch will be no different.”
Taylor moved up to light welterweight after her win over Serrano, suffering her first loss to Chantel Cameron in May 2023, but was avenged in November of last year.
By defeating Cameron, Taylor accomplished this feat at lightweight, becoming the undisputed two-division champion.
After losing to Taylor, the 35-year-old Serrano won four straight fights to become the undisputed featherweight champion.
The loss to Taylor was only the second in Serrano’s career, with the seven-division world champion holding the WBO light welterweight belt in 2018.

Serrano vacated her WBC featherweight title last year to fight in 12 three-minute rounds, but opted to resume in 10 two-minute rounds to face Taylor. “After making history at MSG, I promised my fans that they would see this rematch, and it’s a dream come true to finally think that Katie and I will be able to show the world our rematch on the biggest stage possible. “I feel like it’s about elite women’s boxing,” Serrano said.
“While my focus remains on giving women the opportunity to compete under the same rules as men, I have said this is the only fight I would rely on at 10×2.”
Super major analysis realized in long-awaited rematch
Taylor and Serrano’s first meeting at Madison Square Garden was a landmark moment in women’s boxing, as it was the first time the two fighters had headlined MSG.
However, due to the nature of the competition, both rivals put in impressive performances, with Taylor emerging as a narrow winner.
After years of waiting for the first fight to materialize, the rematch was put on hold and then restarted for the first time in two years, now available on Netflix.
The streaming giant has 260 million viewers worldwide and will broadcast the matches at no extra charge to subscribers. The first fight drew a record 1.5 million viewers on DAZN, but the rematch could surpass that number, with YouTuber and former boxer Paul taking on heavyweight legend Tyson as the headliner.
Tyson called Taylor and Serrano “two of the best boxers in the world” and said the event was “a true gift to the fans.”
AT&T Stadium can host 80,000 fans, so Taylor Serrano 1’s attendance was 19,187, potentially a record crowd for women’s boxing.
Since this battle, the two women have carved out even more history. Taylor became the third fighter of both genders to win undisputed titles in two weight divisions, and Serrano became Puerto Rico’s first undisputed champion in the four-belt era. Serrano will once again be on the back foot in the light welterweight division, but she has come up through the ranks and will be looking for the stoppage she was unable to get in their first fight.
“I think I won the first fight, but the decision wasn’t mine to make, so I’m not going to leave it up to the judges this time,” she said.
