Undefeated Arnold Barboza admits he’s ready to wait on the sidelines if Ryan Garcia doesn’t play Devin Haney.

When Haney Garcia first appeared, Barboza was announced as the main replacement, and his services have been called upon several times in recent weeks.

However, Barboza will look to maintain his spot on the undercard in a main event against Ireland’s Sean McComb (18-1, 5 KOs).

Asked if he had sent a message to show promoter Oscar De La Hoya that he was ready to step in if necessary, Barbosa said: “He knows I’m ready, But that’s Sean McComb, but we’re ready. Let’s go.

Southpaw McComb competed early in the US and won a fight at the Boston Garden in 2018, his only loss coming against Welshman Gavin Gwynne. But Barbosa hopes a win on the Irish tour at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center will set up his next big fight.

“It’s a big place, it’s a card, it’s important,” Barbosa said. -I’m happy here.

It means getting the word out will lead to something bigger.

Barboza (29-0, 11 KOs), 32, of California, is the favorite. However, McComb insists that his focus is on the fight, not the outcome.

“I loved it,” McComb said of going to the big show in New York. -I’m here to work. This is all business. I don’t mind all the cameras and all the great pictures here. I am here to be myself.

Asked about his strategy that night, McComb, who trains with Peter Taylor, replied: “Stick to the game plan we’ve had for weeks and everything will work out for me.”
