Shakur Stevenson Weighs In on Ryan Garcia’s Surprising Role: Teaching Colby Covington the Hook!

The boxing world is abuzz with chatter as Ryan Garcia, fresh off his stunning victory against Devin Haney, steps into a new role as a mentor to none other than former UFC interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington. In a surprising twist, Garcia assumes the role of sensei, imparting his knowledge of the iconic left hook to Covington, showcasing the depth of his skill set beyond the boxing ring.

Emotions soar as Garcia, riding high on his newfound fame and success, takes to social media to share snippets of his impromptu coaching session with Covington. In a now-deleted tweet, Garcia playfully jests about his charitable act, accompanied by a subtle jab at Covington’s prowess in the ring. However, it’s not just Garcia’s followers who take notice of this unexpected collaboration.

Stevenson, Garcia’s longtime rival, takes to social media to offer an unexpected commendation for the young boxer’s teaching abilities. Despite their rivalry, Stevenson acknowledges the value of Garcia’s instruction, labeling him a “goofy n***a” while simultaneously recognizing the effectiveness of his coaching.

He wrote, “Always good doing charity work Hahahab Jk Colby pretty fire night keep punching.”

“I was like, wow. This guy should be an actor… Act like he was crazy, come in three pounds heavy. He sold it all the way to him getting in [to the ring]… Jokes on you, brother. He laughed straight to the bank,”

Meanwhile, the MMA community weighs in on Garcia’s foray into coaching, with UFC BMF champion Max Holloway praising Garcia’s acting skills during his weigh-in antics with Haney. Holloway’s comments shed light on the multifaceted talents of Garcia, highlighting not only his prowess in the ring but also his ability to command attention outside of it.

As Garcia’s influence extends beyond the realm of boxing, fans and pundits alike eagerly await his next move, whether it be in the ring or on the sidelines as a mentor and coach.
